You will sleep better.

People who don’t drink much alcohol tend to have much better, more youthful skin than those who drink on a regular basis. This is mainly due to the fact that alcohol dehydrates your body, which means your body tries to get moisture from wherever it can, including your skin. This is why people who drink regularly are more prone to dry skin. And dry skin equals more wrinkles. You can combat this somewhat by implementing a regular, all-natural skin care routine, but it won’t solve everything. You won’t derail your detox.

You can’t properly detox if you’re still drinking alcohol. You’ve read all the books and checked all the healthy recipes like this one. But the truth is: No matter how much salad you’re eating and how many times you’re filling up your plate with great vegetables, your liver will be crying out for a break. Replace the alcohol with water if you really want to do your liver a world of good.

Your tolerance will decrease.

Although some people like to brag about how much they can drink before it starts to affect them (I know; I used to be one of them), having a high tolerance for alcohol can be a massive problem. Not only does it lead to drinking larger and larger quantities in order to get the desired effect, but it also means that you consume more calories and experience even more of the harmful effects of drinking alcohol, such as liver damage, heart problems, and weight gain. The lower your tolerance, the less alcohol you will want to drink. I’m at the point now where I can’t even drink one glass of wine without feeling it, so I just don’t drink at all anymore. It’s just not worth it to me. The less alcohol you drink, the less money you’ll spend, and the healthier (and richer) you will be.
